Teresa Earnhardt grew up with racing in her blood. Born Teresa Houston, the daughter of Hal Houston, a sportsman racer in Hickory, N.C., and niece of Tommy Houston, legendary Series driver, she married seven-time Winston Cup champion Dale Earnhardt in 1982. Not only was she his wife, but she was also his business partner as together the couple created Dale Earnhardt, Inc. and made it into one of the most successful enterprises in NASCAR. Teresa was innovative in trade-marketing Earnhardt’s image and signature. She is now a car owner for four Busch Series championships in 1998, 1999, 2004 and 2005 as well as an owner for two Craftsman Truck Series championships in 1996 and 1997. Teresa was elected as one of six Mothers of the Year by the National Mother’s Day Committee in 2002. She is mother of Taylor Nicole and stepmother to Kerry, Kelley and Dale Earnhardt Jr.
