A BUSY WEEK OF FIRST APPEARANCES FOR MISS AMERICA 2006 JENNIFER BERRY IN NEW YORK

Las Vegas, NV - January 21, 2006 - Jennifer Berry came to Las Vegas a hopeful contestant representing the state of Oklahoma. Her life has taken a dramatic change as she begins her term as Miss America 2006 with a series of events and public appearances in New York.

Her first week as Miss America sets the tone for the year ahead, as she will log approximately 20,000 miles each month as she works to raise awareness of her Building Intolerance to Drunk Driving and Underage Drinking platform before scores of reporters, policymakers, community leaders - and millions of fans and admirers from coast to coast.

Listed on the President's Honor Roll at the University of Oklahoma, Berry's scholastic ambition is to obtain a Master's Degree in Education. Her career ambition is to be an elementary school teacher.

Miss America will begin her tenure on the airwaves with three appearances on ABC television: Good Morning America (Monday morning at approximately 7:30 a.m. ET), LIVE! With Regis & Kelly (directly following, 9:00 a.m. ET on Monday), and, in her first nationally televised live interview as Miss America, an interview with Good Morning America Weekend (LIVE via satellite from the Aladdin Resort & Casino in Las Vegas at approximately 7:00 a.m. ET).

Monday at 1:00 p.m. ET, Berry will hold her first press conference in New York City at the New York Marriott Marquis, Times Square at 1:00 p.m. ET in the Broadway Lounge on the 8th floor.

The media blitz will continue with LIVE appearances on CNN Headline News / Showbiz Tonight (Monday evening at 6:00 p.m. ET) and The Tony Danza Show (Tuesday morning at 10:00 a.m. ET).

This week Berry will make two LIVE national appearances on Fox News Channel: first on FOX & Friends (Tuesday morning at approximately 8:30 a.m. ET), and then on Dayside (at approximately 1:00 p.m. ET).

Additionally, Miss America will make a national television appearance on MSNBC's The Situation with Tucker Carlson (Monday at 11:00 p.m ET) and will tape an in-studio interview with the nationally syndicated Inside Edition.

Tuesday morning, Berry will do a LIVE in-studio interview with New York's WB11 Morning News, which will air at approximately 7:40 a.m. ET.

Miss America will appear on at least two nationally syndicated radio programs: "Leeza Live," the music and talk show hosted by Leeza Gibbons, a judge for this year's pageant, and she will also tape an in-studio interview with VH1 Radio / CMT. The remainder of her week in New York will consist of corporate meetings.

The New York Marriot Marquis, Times Square is the official hotel of Miss America's New York City media tour.

Banana Republic is providing clothes for Miss America's New York City media tour.

Zivot, the official jeweler of Miss America 2006, has provided jewelry selections for Miss America's entire year of service.
