NASHVILLE – February 20, 2007 – CMT announces its first round of performers scheduled to take the stage at the 2007 CMT MUSIC AWARDS. The star-studded line-up includes chart-toppers Kenny Chesney, Carrie Underwood, Martina McBride, Sugarland and Dierks Bentley, with others soon to be announced. Jeff Foxworthy returns as host for the third consecutive year when the 2007 CMT MUSIC AWARDS airs live on Monday, April 16 at 8 p.m., ET*
CMT’s sixth annual awards show honors country music’s elite for the year’s most outstanding music videos and is the genre’s only fan-voted awards. Tickets to the 2007 CMT MUSIC AWARDS at The Curb Event Center at Belmont University in Nashville go on sale Saturday, March 3 at 10 a.m., CT and are available at all Ticketmaster outlets, by phone at 615-255-9600, online at CMT.com and ticketmaster.com. Fan voting is underway at CMT.com to determine the Awards Show finalists through Friday, February 23. CMT will announce the four finalists in each category except VIDEO OF THE YEAR on February 28. The final nominees for VIDEO OF THE YEAR will be announced at the beginning of the show, and fans can vote at CMT.com as well as via mobile phone throughout the live broadcast (ET/CT only) to determine the night’s big winner.
