CMT ANNOUNCES AN ALL-STAR TRIBUTE TO KRIS KRISTOFFERSON AT THE “2007 CMT MUSIC AWARDS”

NASHVILLE – April 10, 2007 – Just when you thought it couldn’t get any bigger, CMT announces the stars that have come out to honor
“Johnny Cash Visionary Award” recipient, Kris Kristofferson, in an on-air tribute package, including Gretchen Wilson, Keith Urban, Luke Wilson, legendary filmmaker and Academy Award winner Martin Scorsese, Academy Award winner Russell Crowe, Willie Nelson, and acclaimed producer Don Was. Singer/songwriter Rosanne Cash, the daughter of Johnny Cash, will present the award to Kristofferson. Big & Rich, Blake Shelton, Randy Owen of Alabama and Ross “the Intern” Mathews (“The Tonight Show with Jay Leno”) have been added to the presenter line-up for the 2007 CMT MUSIC AWARDS, airing live from Nashville’s Curb Event Center at Belmont University on Monday, April 16 at 8:00 p.m., ET.*

Hosted by Jeff Foxworthy, the 2007 CMT MUSIC AWARDS features performances by Carrie Underwood, Dierks Bentley, Hank Williams Jr., a special performance by Keith Urban from Australia, Kenny Chesney, Martina McBride, Rascal Flatts, Sugarland, Toby Keith and Bon Jovi. The previously announced presenters include Barbara Mandrell, Jason Aldean, Josh Turner, Kellie Pickler, LeAnn Rimes, Melissa Peterman (“Reba”,“CMT Comedy Stage”), Miranda Lambert, celebrity chef Paula Deen, comedians Rodney Carrington and Ron White, Stone Cold Steve Austin and Taylor Swift.

Voting is currently underway at CMT.com to determine the night’s big winners as well as the “Flatt Out Fan Favorite,” the song that Rascal Flatts will perform to open the broadcast. The final nominees for Video of the Year will be announced at the beginning of the show, and fans can vote at CMT.com, as well as via mobile phone, throughout the live broadcast (ET/CT only) to determine the final award of the night.
