#CMTAOTY Grabs Top Trending Spot on Twitter Throughout Night
NASHVILLE – December 4, 2013 – CMT ARTISTS OF THE YEAR was a hit among fans with the show’s first ever live telecast from Nashville’s Music City Center on December 3, posting the highest ratings in the franchise’s four-year history. According to early numbers from Nielsen, ratings were up +81% over last year among persons 18-49. The show claimed the No. 1 trending position on Twitter just minutes in, following a comedic open with host Ron White and the cast of “Anchorman 2.” Additionally, CMT.com saw triple digit gains across the board for the show with streams up +277% from 2012.
With Ron White at the helm, CMT ARTISTS OF THE YEAR celebrated the achievements of Jason Aldean, Luke Bryan, Florida Georgia Line, Hunter Hayes and Tim McGraw in 90-minute live special which included special appearances and wall-to-wall performances. Encore presentations of CMT ARTISTS OF THE YEAR will air Thursday, December 5 at 8 p.m., ET/PT; and Saturday, December 7 at 2 p.m., ET/PT.
