NASHVILLE – March 7, 2006 – CMT counts down the greatest moments in the careers of some of the most talented and well-known country music superstars in its new series, CMT GREATEST MOMENTS premiering April 8 at 8pm ET/PT with a new episode premiering every Saturday in the same time slot. In the series of one-hour episodes, CMT salutes the greatest accomplishments, achievements and accolades of country’s biggest stars through exclusive clips, interviews, performances, videos and more.
The series debuts with CMT GREATEST MOMENTS: GEORGE STRAIT on April 8. Strait sits down for a rare and in-depth interview to share personal stories of his legendary career. The show highlights moments from his first gig at a small club in San Marcos, TX to setting attendance records at the Houston Astrodome. From his first number one song, “Fool Hearted Memory,” in early 1982 through his recent 52nd number one, “She Let Herself Go,” and right up to his hits today, the words “George Strait” and “country hit” have been synonymous. Strait has won over 40 major industry awards and leads the all-time Country Music Association award nominations with 73 and can boast 19 number one country albums.
Other artists to be featured in weekly episodes include Tim McGraw, Shania Twain, Toby Keith, Faith Hill and Kenny Chesney.
