CMT to Feature the Canadian-based Band on CMT Mobile, CMT Loaded, CMT.com and URGE

NASHVILLE – August 31, 2006 – The self-described “no-nonsense, kick-ass band” The Road Hammers make their U.S. debut on CMT this fall, starting with the premiere of their self-titled mobi-series on CMT Mobile. The 28-mobisode documentary follows the Canadian-based band as they struggle to find their way in the music business. CMT will showcase the unsigned, independent band on all of its digital extensions including exclusive performances, ringtones and more on CMT Loaded, CMT.com and URGE, MTV Network’s digital music service.

CMT’s signature Web performance series STUDIO 330 SESSIONS will also feature The Road Hammers this month on Loaded at CMT.com. The band rocked CMT’s Nashville studio with songs of the open road, big rigs and true love; including an acoustic version of their signature hit “I’m a Road Hammer” and their version of the cover “East Bound and Down.” The performances are also available exclusively as downloads on URGE.

Critically-acclaimed in Canada and Australia, The Road Hammers raw blend of country and southern rock has been climbing the charts since their 2005 debut. The brainchild of Jason McCoy, the 2004 Canadian Country Music Association Male Vocalist of the Year, the band pays tribute to the men and women who call the highways of the world home. With a Canadian gold album, hit TV series on CMT Canada and numerous accolades including the 2005 Canadian Country Music Awards Group of the Year and 2006 JUNO Country Recording of the Year under their belt, it’s only a matter of time before their music burns up the U.S. charts.
