CMT INVITES VIEWERS TO CREATE THEIR OWN COMMERCIAL FOR ITS NEW SERIES “DALLAS COWBOYS CHEERLEADERS: MAKING THE TEAM”

NASHVILLE – September 25, 2006 – Want to spend some quality time with the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders? Here’s your chance, as CMT launches a new, online viral game that allows fans to create their own commercial for the upcoming, eight-episode series, DALLAS COWBOYS CHEERLEADERS: MAKING THE TEAM, premiering Friday, September 29 at 9:00-10:00 p.m., ET/PT on CMT.
CMT has partnered with HypeCouncil to develop the game, which invites fans to create their own commercial utilizing audio and footage from the series. Players compete for a chance to see their finished commercial on CMT, as well as an all-expenses paid trip to see the Dallas Cowboys play at Texas Stadium. The game, entitled “Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders: Making the Commercial,” is available today at CMT.com.

“This game was created to engage viewers in a unique way by inviting them into the creative process, and ultimately be a mouthpiece for the new series,” said Andy Holeman, vice president, consumer marketing, CMT. “The viral element lets viewers share and compare their commercial with their friends, ups the ante on the competition and heightens overall series awareness, and CMT’s creative team could use a night off.”

“Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders: Making the Commercial” allows users to incorporate some of the most dramatic video and audio elements from the CMT series to customize their commercial. Completed works will live on a CMT site where users can upload, view and share their entries with their family and friends. The ten most-streamed commercials will enter a final round of competition, and CMT will choose the best montage encompassing all of the drama of the new series to be aired on CMT later this fall.

DALLAS COWBOYS CHEERLEADERS: MAKING THE TEAM captures the entire selection process as cheerleading hopefuls struggle with rigorous fitness standards, intricate dance routines and the signature “kick-line” to become one of the 36 chosen. As part of CMT’s multi-platform approach, DALLAS COWBOYS CHEERLEADERS: MAKING THE TEAM is now available on Loaded at CMT.com, a full week before the show’s network premiere. The network’s new broadband channel also contains exclusive footage, outtakes and more of the prestigious cheerleading squad. The series will be available later this fall on CMT Mobile and VOD.
