CMT LAUNCHES CROWNING AFFILIATE CAMPAIGN TO SUPPORT THE “2007 MISS AMERICA PAGEANT”

The Multiplatform Effort Includes Local Ad Sales, Broadband and VOD Components

CMT to Award Top 30 Affiliates with VIP Trips to Experience the Pageant Live

NASHVILLE – December 4, 2006 – CMT launches a crowning affiliate promotional opportunity to support the 2007 MISS AMERICA PAGEANT, premiering live from the Aladdin Resort & Casino in Las Vegas on Monday, January 29, 2007.  The effort includes local ad sales, broadband and VOD components that showcase the benefits of affiliate premium services and drive sales.

“The Miss America Pageant provides us with a fantastic opportunity to create customized campaigns and integrate all of our multiplatform efforts at the affiliate level,” said Allyson Cantor, director, CMT affiliate marketing. “We tapped into the local nature of the Miss America franchise, developing some unique opportunities that we think will help affiliates drive sales and break new categories.”

The local ad sales promotion features three customizable sponsorship spots, including state specific and Miss America tune-in spots, as well as beauty tip vignettes.  The state specific spots were created to introduce the contestants to local viewers. Four beauty tip vignettes were created with Miss America 2006, Jennifer Berry, in an effort to help affiliates break new categories and sell sponsorships to health, fitness, sports and beauty retailers.

CMT will award affiliates from the top 30 markets who agree to run cross-channel spots between January 10-29 with a three-day, two-night VIP trip to the 2007 MISS AMERICA PAGEANT live in Las Vegas complete with transportation, hotel accommodations, excusive events and more.

CMT.com will offer exclusive Miss America content, including talent preliminaries, behind-the-scenes video clips, contestant bios, interviews and more.  In addition, the Miss Congeniality Award is back allowing viewers to vote online for the first time in pageant history. To support this extensive broadband content, CMT created customized spots to showcase the benefits of high-speed access services for partnering affiliates to run and tag with broadband offers.

CMT on Demand will feature all 52 Miss America contestants in one-minute vignettes on Comcast, Charter, Cox and Verizon beginning December 22.  Additionally, the 2006 Miss America Pageant will be featured content in CMT VOD.  CMT created customizable spots for partnering affiliates designed to drive consumers to VOD content, as well as showcase the benefits of high-speed access. Affiliates that agree to run cross channel spots from January 10- 29 will be entered to win an exclusive CMT prize pack.

The 2006 MISS AMERICA PAGEANT premiered on CMT last January and ranks as the most-watched telecast in CMT’s history with total viewers.  Since its premiere, re-airings of the Pageant have been seen by more than 27 million different viewers.

For the first time in its 85 year history, the MISS AMERICA PAGEANT took place outside of Atlantic City and debuted in Las Vegas at the Aladdin Resort & Casino.  Jennifer Berry, of Oklahoma, is the current Miss America.
