Fans Compete for Chance to Host Special Episode of CMT TOP 20 COUNTDOWN in the Best American “Hometown” in User-Generated Contest
NASHVILLE – May 24, 2007 – There’s no place like home. CMT’s broadband platform, CMT Loaded, celebrates everything “home" with the launch of a new channel dedicated to user-generated content, CMT HOMEGROWN. Beginning Thursday, May 24, CMT asks fans to showcase what makes their city special in the new user-generated contest, HOMETOWN EDITION, the first series to debut under the new HOMEGROWN banner. Whether it’s Friday night football or the local county fair that makes a town unique, fans will vote online to crown the nation’s best “hometown.” CMT’s on-air staple, CMT TOP 20 COUNTDOWN, will tape a special edition live from the winning entrant’s own hometown.
From rural America to its booming urban centers, fans can enter a video that shows the top five reasons their city is special, beginning Thursday, May 24 until Thursday, August 30. The top four finalists will be announced on CMT TOP 20 COUNTDOWN on Thursday, September 6, at which time viewers can vote online at Homegrown.CMT.com for the best of HOMETOWN EDITION. Entries should be less than two minutes and feature the top five people, places or events that make a hometown special.
