NASHVILLE, June 21, 2006 – CMT ON TOUR returns for its fifth consecutive year with another blockbuster line-up, with headliner Trace Adkins and featuring Billy Currington and Jason Aldean. CMT ON TOUR will launch on Oct. 5 in Jacksonville, Fl. Tickets will be available by calling local Ticketmaster outlets or online at www.ticketmaster.com. CMT ON TOUR: TRACE ADKINS is executive produced by Steve Moore of AEG Live.

Headlining CMT ON TOUR this year is Trace Adkins, an artist who has sold millions of records, won dozens of awards and will celebrate his tenth year as a recording artist with a new album release, Dangerous Man, marking his seventh studio album for Capitol Records Nashville, slated for August 15 release.

Joining Adkins is Mercury recording artist, CMA and two-time ACM nominee, Billy Currington, who made his country debut with his 2003 self-titled album that spawned the powerful Top 10 hit “Walk A Little Straighter” and the Top five smash “I Got A Feelin’.” His second and Gold-certified album Doin’ Somethin’ Right, features the current hit single “Why, Why, Why” and the No. 1 hit “Must Be Doin’ Somethin’ Right,” which led to his first CMT Music Award for “Hottest Video of the Year.”

Also on tour is Broken Bow Record's Jason Aldean, who was recently named the ACM’s TOP NEW MALE VOCALIST. Aldean’s self-titled debut release earned gold certification in record time and has been praised by critics and fans alike. His most recent single, "Why," was a smash hit that skyrocketed to the No. 1 spot on Billboard’s chart and the CMT Top 20 Countdown. His first single, the monster hit "Hicktown," was also a chart-topping song and No. 1 video firmly planting Aldean on the country music map.
