CMT Tells Music Fans: “We Know How You Feel!”

NASHVILLE – June 6, 2006 – CMT salutes fans with a grassroots campaign to celebrate everything that makes country fans unique. Centered in the network’s Nashville home, the “CMT ?’s Fanatics” campaign hits the streets this month with a simple message to the fans: “We know how you feel (because we’re fans too).” The campaign showcases fans in creative billboards, interactive displays, live music and more, including a Web site built for fans to share their favorite photos and moments at CMTfanatics.com.

“CMT ?’s Fanatics” takes over downtown Nashville with an interactive street exhibit on Broadway throughout the month of June. Right next to some of the world’s most famous honkytonks, CMT celebrates “fanatics” with unexpected graphic displays and a hidden camera that actually inserts the faces of fans into the art display located at 411 Broadway. Billboards and more than 200 posters are currently on display throughout the city as well, along with multiple on-air spots featuring fans at their best.

In addition, CMT is gearing up for a large presence during the CMA Music Festival on June 8-11 with fan activities throughout Nashville:

The “CMT ?’s Fanatics” booth at the Nashville Convention Center will feature appearances by CMT hosts Katie Cook and Lance Smith, and at the booth fans can sing their own tune with CMT’s new Karaoke Revolution Country video game and have their CMT Fanatic photo taken to share with friends.

CMT takes over the Sports Zone Stage near the Schermerhorn Symphony Center (between 3rd and 4th Avenues) each day between 11 a.m. and 5 p.m. Free and open to the public, the area will feature great performances and sports activities.

Beginning at 10 p.m. each night, The Stage on Broadway becomes CMT’s own hot spot with live music and the CMT Cross Country crew. On Friday, June 9, CMT’s Lance Smith will host “CMT ?’s Fanatics” night filled with great music and fun prizes. CMT’s Cross Country vehicle, a 53-foot promotional truck and trailer, will entertain fans with games, prizes, and more at the Sports Zone near the Schermerhorn Symphony Center.

CMT INSIDER will report on all of the week’s action.
