CMT CROSSROADS DVD Only Second Ever to be Released in Stores

NASHVILLE – July 12, 2011 – For only the second time in the series’ history, CMT has partnered with Big Machine Label Group’s Republic Nashville to release CMT CROSSROADS: TRAIN AND MARTINA MCBRIDE to DVD, arriving in Target stores nationwide today, July 12. The DVD features seven performances from the chart-topping rockers Train and country queen Martina McBride, including their collaborations on such hits as Train’s “Hey, Soul Sister,” “Marry Me” and “Drops of Jupiter (Tell Me),” along with Martina’s “A Broken Wing” and “Wrong Baby Wrong.” The DVD also includes extended interviews with the artists, and two never-before-seen performances. The show was taped before a live audience in Nashville last year, and debuted on CMT in November. In 2009, CMT released CMT CROSSROADS: TAYLOR SWIFT AND DEF LEPPARD on DVD with Big Machine Label Group’s Big Machine Records.

1.   Wrong Baby Wrong
2.   Hey, Soul Sister
3.   A Broken Wing
4.   Drops of Jupiter (Tell Me)
5.   Marry Me
6.   Whatever You Say

Train and Martina join an elite group of performers who have taped CMT CROSSROADS, which pairs country music stars with popular artists from other genres – pop, rock, R&B – to play together, swap stories and share their common love of music. Recent episodes have included The Doobie Brothers and Luke Bryan, The Pretenders and Faith Hill, The Steve Miller Band and Kenny Chesney and John Mayer and Keith Urban, among others.

Over the course of 15 years, Train has made its mark on music history with their GRAMMY®-Award-winning song “Drops of Jupiter (Tell Me)” and popular singles “Hey, Soul Sister,” “Meet Virginia” and “Calling All Angels.” Since forming in San Francisco in 1994, the multi-platinum selling band has traveled a long, successful and sometimes arduous journey. Following their 2006 release, For Me, It’s You, the band took a three-year hiatus, and in that time, Train has, for all intents and purposes, experienced an epiphany as a whole. Now, with their fifth album, Save Me San Francisco, Train has channeled their early days, revisiting the roots rock sound that has made the band such a tour de force – and, in turn, the band is united stronger than ever before. “Hey, Soul Sister,” the first single from this latest album, is currently the biggest selling single of 2010 and the biggest single download in Columbia Records’ history.

One of the most spectacular voices in any genre of music, Martina McBride is a four-time CMA Female Vocalist of the Year, three-time ACM Female Vocalist of the Year and GRAMMY® winning recording artist with more than 18 million in album sales and 24 Top 10 singles, including six that hit #1. The breadth of her talents - as recording artist, producer, songwriter, and concert entertainer – has made her an in-demand performer and personality, appearing on such high-profile programs as VH1 Divas (singing with Jordin Sparks), Dancing with the Stars, the Today show's "Today Throws a Wedding," American Idol, Oprah, The Bachelorette, Private Sessions, a 20/20 special, and much more. Celebrated for her beauty and sense of fashion, as well as her everywoman perspective in life and music, Martina is a wife and mother of three girls who has been featured on the covers of publications like Redbook, Ladies Home Journal, People Magazine, Country Weekly and Shape. Among her hits are such anthemic and empowering songs as "Independence Day," "This One's for the Girls," and "Ride," all of which have underscored her incredible popularity as one of music's preeminent female vocalists. Martina’s first album on Republic Nashville is set for release on October 18 and includes her first new music since 2009 – “Teenage Daughters.” She was recently nominated for the 2011 CMT Music Awards CMT Performance of the Year from CMT CROSSROADS: TRAIN AND MARTINA MCBRIDE.

CMT CROSSROADS is produced by Tom Forrest and Kathryn Russ. John Hamlin, Margaret Comeaux and Bill Flanagan serve as executive producers for CMT.
