CMT TO RE-TELECAST “40TH ANNUAL CMA AWARDS” ON THURSDAY, NOVEMBER 23

Three-Hour Gala Includes Performances by Brooks & Dunn, Kenny Chesney,
Faith Hill, Alan Jackson, Martina McBride, Rascal Flatts,
George Strait, Sugarland, Carrie Underwood and More


NASHVILLE – November 20, 2006 – Once again, CMT offers music fans a chance to relive Country Music’s Biggest Night™ when it telecasts the “40th Annual CMA Awards,” hosted by multi-platinum duo Brooks & Dunn, on Thursday, November 23 at 8:00-11:00 p.m., ET/PT. Previously aired on ABC, the awards are back in Nashville with today’s hottest stars from both country music and television.

The three-hour television event features performances by Brooks & Dunn, Kenny Chesney, Faith Hill, George Strait, Martina McBride, Alan Jackson, Rascal Flatts, Carrie Underwood, Brad Paisley, Sugarland, Dierks Bentley, Sara Evans, Jason Aldean, Vince Gill with Sheryl Crow, Jenny Gill, Amy Grant, Miranda Lambert, Little Big Town, Josh Turner, Gretchen Wilson performing with John Rich of Big & Rich and The Wreckers.

The all-star roster of presenters includes James Denton, Eva Longoria, Jon Bon Jovi and Richie Sambora of Bon Jovi, Trisha Yearwood, LeAnn Rimes, Barbara Mandrell, “American Idol” alum Kellie Pickler, Billy Ray and Miley Cyrus (“Hannah Montana”), among others.

The “40th Annual CMA Awards” delivered a ratings win for ABC, which won both total viewers (16.0 million) and Adults 18-49 (5.4/13) for their first ever broadcast of the event on November 6. ABC also took the top spot across each of the key women demographics, as well as Teens 12-17 and Kids 2-11. An estimated 32.3 million viewers** watched at least some portion of the awards.*
