CMT’S “BIG NEW MUSIC WEEKEND” DELIVERS BIG INCREASES FOR CMT, LIFTS SALES FOR ARTISTS

Underwood and Lambert Have Best-Selling Ringtones at CMT Mobile



NASHVILLE – October 7, 2009 – CMT’s most-anticipated video premiere event ever, CMT BIG NEW MUSIC WEEKEND, delivered big numbers for CMT, CMT.com and CMT Mobile. Already on a ratings high, CMT’s music video hours climbed another +14% during the weekend of October 2-4. In addition, CMT.com and CMT mobile experienced double-digit increases for unique visitors, and streams were up +45% for the weekend at CMT.com.

Carrie Underwood’s “Cowboy Casanova” quickly rose to the #1 video for the week on CMT.com, followed by Miranda Lambert’s “White Liar” at #2 and Sugarland’s “Keep You” at #3. In other digital success, ringtone sales on CMT Mobile doubled over the weekend, with Underwood and Lambert taking the top spots.

CMT BIG NEW MUSIC WEEKEND featured nine new music videos from superstar artists in one exclusive, world premiere event on CMT, CMT.com and CMT PURE. The network unveiled new videos by Carrie Underwood, Tim McGraw, Kenny Chesney (featuring Dave Matthews), Keith Urban, Sugarland, Reba, Miranda Lambert, Billy Currington and Michelle Branch. Just prior to NEW MUSIC WEEKEND, CMT announced that music videos were up a remarkable +23% during third quarter compared to last year.
