Premiering Saturday, April 27 at 11:30 a.m., ET/PT

NASHVILLE – April 24, 2013 – CMT RADIO LIVE and CMT HOT 20 COUNTDOWN host Cody Alan is partnering with the Boys & Girls Club of America and Notes for Notes to help introduce and connect CMT artists with the non-profit organization dedicated to providing youth with free access to musical instruments, instruction and recording studio environments. Republic Nashville’s The Band Perry helped Alan kick-off this partnership by meeting with local Notes for Notes members during their recent visit to CMT HOT 20 COUNTDOWN, where they sang an a cappella version of the hit “All Your Life” for the trio. The episode premieres Saturday, April 27 at 11:30 a.m., ET/PT.

“Music has always been a huge part of my life, so I’m thankful for the opportunity to help introduce music to kids who are interested in a different creative outlet,” Alan said. “I believe the Notes for Notes programs at the Boys & Girls Clubs can change lives through music.”

Alan’s partnership grew out of the CMT ONE COUNTRY initiative, which encourages viewers to take action in their communities through civic engagement and volunteerism. Moving forward, Alan will conduct select interviews for his syndicated nightly show CMT RADIO LIVE WITH CODY ALAN from the Nashville Notes for Notes’ MusicBox studios, the professional studio environment in partnership with Boys & Girls Clubs of Middle Tennessee where youth ages 6-18 gather to create and record their own music. By bringing CMT artists to this location, Alan will expose the students to a variety of artists and styles of music and in turn, expose the artists to the importance of this program.

Founded by Executive Director Philip Gilley in 2006 in Santa Barbara, Notes for Notes has constructed and continues to operate two MusicBox Studios in Santa Barbara, in addition to two in Nashville with the support of the regional Boys & Girls Clubs of America. Development has begun on locations in Detroit, Los Angeles and Ventura as well.
