FANS PICK THEIR “FLATT OUT FAN FAVORITE” – RASCAL FLATTS TO OPEN THE “2007 CMT MUSIC AWARDS”
Viewers to Choose Their Favorite of Three Rascal Flatts’ Songs at CMT.com
NASHVILLE – February 28, 2007 – CMT wants fans to exercise their right to vote as the 2006 top-selling act of all genres, Rascal Flatts, just added to the performance line-up for the 2007 CMT MUSIC AWARDS, puts a new twist on their performance by letting CMT viewers choose what song they will sing to open the show. From February 28 through April 13, viewers can log on to CMT.com to vote for their “Flatt Out Fan Favorite,” the song that will open the sixth annual awards show.
The multi-platinum band will perform the winning title at the beginning of the 2007 CMT MUSIC AWARDS premiering live on Monday, April 16 at 8:00 p.m., ET.* Fans can choose from the following Rascal Flatts hits:
• “Life Is A Highway”
• “Me and My Gang”
• “Fast Cars and Freedom”
The previously announced star-studded line-up includes chart-toppers Kenny Chesney, Carrie Underwood, Martina McBride, Sugarland and Dierks Bentley, with others soon to be announced. Jeff Foxworthy returns as host of the 2007 CMT MUSIC AWARDS for the third consecutive year.
CMT’s sixth annual awards show honors country music’s elite for the year’s most outstanding music videos and is the genre’s only fan-voted awards. Tickets to the 2007 CMT MUSIC AWARDS at The Curb Event Center at Belmont University in Nashville go on sale Saturday, March 3 at 10 a.m., CT and are available at all Ticketmaster outlets, by phone at 615-255-9600, online at CMT.com and ticketmaster.com. Fan voting is underway at CMT.com to determine the winners for the 2007 CMT MUSIC AWARDS. CMT announced the four finalists in each category, except VIDEO OF THE YEAR on February 28. The final nominees for VIDEO OF THE YEAR will be announced at the beginning of the show, and fans can vote at CMT.com as well as via mobile phone throughout the live broadcast (ET/CT only) to determine the night’s big winner.
