HIT SERIES “TRICK MY TRUCK” DRIVES CMT TO RECORD RATINGS AND CONTINUED GROWTH IN FIRST QUARTER 06
NASHVILLE – March 28, 2006 – The big rig makeover series TRICK MY TRUCK rolled through first quarter 2006 scoring record ratings and debuting as CMT’s highest-rated original series ever. The series, combined with strong showings from COWBOY U: OKLAHOMA, CMT TOP 20 and CMT INSIDER, pushed CMT to a +27% increase in Primetime impressions among total viewers, and a +15% gain among P18-49 impressions versus 1Q05.
Also premiering to record ratings was the 2006 MISS AMERICA PAGEANT which debuted as CMT's most watched telecast ever among total viewers, besting all other basic cable networks in its time period (Saturday, 8-10 p.m., 1/21).
Up next for CMT is the network’s premier music event, the 2006 CMT MUSIC AWARDS, premiering live on Monday, April 10 at 8 p.m., ET. Hosted for the second year by comedian Jeff Foxworthy, the live fan-voted award show will feature performances by country’s biggest superstars. Also premiering in second quarter is the series UNSUNG STORIES, featuring Nashville’s top songwriters composing songs based on real life stories, and THE ULTIMATE COYOTE UGLY SEARCH, which follows auditions for the famed Coyote Ugly bar to be re-opened in New Orleans post-Hurricane Katrina.
