HOLLY WILLIAMS PREMIERES NEW VIDEO “DRINKIN’” EXCLUSIVELY ON CMT, CMT.COM AND CMT PURE TODAY
NASHVILLE – January 24, 2012 – Singer-songwriter Holly Williams’ reveals her new video “Drinkin’” today exclusively across CMT, CMT.com and CMT Pure. “Drinkin’” is the first track from her new album The Highway, and recounts the tale of addiction between a man and woman. The video was directed by John Moesnner, and includes scenes from what Williams describes as her husband’s “man cave.” The video launched as part of CMT’s new “Next Women of Country” campaign, and is the first of several new offerings fans can expect to see from country’s female power voices throughout the year.
“There is a parallel love of the woman and the bottle, with a constant fear of abandonment for her, and spiraling into the dark hole of addiction for the both of them,” Williams explained. “I love the shots of his weary face and her beautiful, heartbroken eyes.”
The daughter of Hank Williams, Jr. and granddaughter of the legendary Hank Williams, Williams will release her third studio album The Highway on February 5 from her own imprint, Georgiana Records. Pre-orders are available now at iTunes, Amazon and www.hollywilliams.com. She co-produced the album with Charlie Peacock (The Civil Wars), and wrote or co-wrote 11 original compositions on the album. The Highway includes guest vocals from Jackson Browne (“Gone Away From Me”), Jakob Dylan (“Without You”), Dierks Bentley (“‘Til It Runs Dry’”) and Gwyneth Paltrow (“Waiting On June”).
