Nationwide Insurance Creates Branded Stage Featuring Performances By Jason Michael Carroll, Carter Twins, Eric Church, Eli Young Band, Gloriana and Joey + Rory
NASHVILLE – June 8, 2009 – Additional performers Jason Michael Carroll, Carter Twins, Eric Church, Eli Young Band, Gloriana and Joey + Rory are set to join the 2009 CMT MUSIC AWARDS from the Nationwide Insurance stage when the show airs live from Nashville on Tuesday, June 16 at 8:00 p.m, ET/PT.* For the second year in a row, Nationwide Insurance will be featured throughout the live telecast from a special branded performance stage that resembles the insurance giant’s blue logo.
As part of their sponsorship, a special Nationwide ‘On Your Side®’ Award will be presented based on fan voting at CMT.com. The winner will be announced live during the 2009 CMT MUSIC AWARDS telecast. In order to help get out the vote, CMT created solicitation spots to drive awareness on-air, and co-branded ads have been featured heavily on CMT.com. In addition, the more than 4 million votes that have already been cast for the 2009 CMT MUSIC AWARDS have received messaging to vote for the Nationwide award. Hosted by actor/comedian Bill Engvall, the 2009 CMT MUSIC AWARDS will include performances by Trace Adkins, Jason Aldean, Dierks Bentley, Toby Keith, Lady Antebellum, Brad Paisley, Kellie Pickler, Rascal Flatts, Darius Rucker, Sugarland, Taylor Swift, Keith Urban and British rockers Def Leppard. Fans can now vote online at CMT.com through Sunday, June 14 to determine the night’s winners. The final nominees for VIDEO OF THE YEAR will be announced at the beginning of the live show and fans can vote at CMT.com and via text on their Verizon Wireless phones throughout the live broadcast (ET/CT only) to determine the night’s big winner.
