Series Began Shooting Yesterday in Texas
NASHVILLE – May 30, 2007 – Hosted by accomplished rodeo athlete and seven-time All-Around World Champion Ty Murray, CMT’s new series, TY MURRAY'S CELEBRITY BULL RIDING CHALLENGE, will follow nine celebrities as they travel to Texas and try to master this dangerous and fascinating sport. The six-episode series premieres on CMT Friday, August 10 at 9:00-10:00 p.m., ET/PT.

"TY MURRAY'S CELEBRITY BULL RIDING CHALLENGE might be the most loud, over the top series we've ever done on CMT" said Bob Kusbit, Head of Development for CMT. "Ty Murray is the brightest star there is in bull riding, a true world champion...but he's got his work cut out for him training a cast of celebrities who are certainly brave...but way out of their element. It's definitely the most dangerous celebrity competition on television." “Teaching anyone to ride a bull in ten days is a challenge so I hope these celebrities are in good shape and ready to get roughed up cowboy style,” commented Ty Murray.
The cast will be tested both physically and mentally for ten days with daily tutorials where they will be taught how to mount the bull in the chute, learning how to take a major fall, mental concentration and trying to survive the most intense eight seconds in sports. As their days on the ranch progress, the stress is ramped up as the challenges become more intense. Those that survive will compete at a Professional Bull Riders event in Nashville where they will try to hang on for dear life in front of a stadium full of rodeo fans. With the help of Texas Cowboy Hall of Fame member Cody Lambert and other guest bull riders, Murray is bound to prove that the cut-throat world of Hollywood is nothing compared to the real life thrills of professional bull riding.
