SUPERSTAR TIM MCGRAW LETS IT GO WITH CMT’S KATIE COOK IN “CMT INSIDER SPECIAL EDITION: TIM MCGRAW” PREMIERING SATURDAY, MARCH 31
It’s All McGraw, All Weekend Long with CMT’s Special TIM MCGRAW WEEKEND
NASHVILLE – March 14, 2006 – CMT’s Katie Cook sits down with Tim McGraw for a candid interview on his new album, his family and his passions in a CMT INSIDER SPECIAL EDITION: TIM MCGRAW premiering Saturday, March 31 at 9:00-10:00 p.m., ET/PT. McGraw discusses everything from what makes his new duet with wife Faith Hill unique, to which Hollywood heartthrob makes him jealous and what the Dancehall Doctors have to say about being on the road with him. CMT also goes behind the scenes with McGraw for the upcoming Soul 2 Soul tour 2007 and talks with him about his album, Let It Go, which hits stores March 27.
In addition, CMT will celebrate the superstar’s new album release all weekend long with concerts, bio-documentaries and more as part of a special TIM MCGRAW WEEKEND. The programming lineup is as follows:
INSIDE FAME: TIM MCGRAW (airs Friday, March 30 at 4:00-5:30 p.m., ET/PT) – Tim McGraw is the ultimate superstar. With a stellar career, high profile marriage to fellow superstar Faith Hill and a loving family, McGraw seems to have it all. In the special 90-minute episode of CMT INSIDE FAME, McGraw speaks exclusively to CMT and opens up about what his life is really like.
TIM MCGRAW: SING ME HOME (airs Saturday, March 31 at 8:00-9:00 p.m., ET/PT) – CMT encores Tim McGraw’s first major network special TIM MCGRAW: SING ME HOME, which first aired in 2002. McGraw performed from his hometown of Start, La., for the taping of this live concert at the Cotton Gin.
TIM MCGRAW: HERE AND NOW (airs Sunday, April 1 at 10:00-11:00 a.m., ET/PT) – On the heels of his box office success with "Friday Night Lights" and chart-topping CD, Live Like You Were Dying, CMT re-telecasts McGraw’s second network television music special, "Tim McGraw: Here and Now." McGraw traveled to Green Bay, Wis. for two concert performances, including a duet with his wife Faith Hill and a special appearance by Green Bay Packers' quarterback Brett Farve. Also included in the special is a duet with Nelly of their hit single, "Over and Over."
KARAOKE-DOKEY: TIM & FAITH (airs Friday, March 30 at 10:00-10:30 p.m., ET/PT) – CMT's Karaoke-Dokey features four contestants who compete in a battle to see who does the best impersonation of country's first couple, Tim McGraw and Faith Hill. These aspiring singers belt it out in front of a live audience and panel of judges, including Steve Holy (Curb Recording Artist), Allison DeMarcus (former Miss Tennessee and wife of Rascal Flatts' Jay DeMarcus ) and Hazel Smith (Southern Fried Flicks). In the end, only one will win the title of Karaoke-Dokey king or queen and earn bragging rights in honky-tonks and karaoke bars across America.
McGraw will release his eleventh album Let It Go on March 27. He has sold 34 million albums, placed 26 singles at No. 1, starred in two films “Friday Night Lights” and “Flicka” and garnered literally scores of awards and nominations including Grammys, CMAs, ACMs, AMAs, CMT MUSIC AWARDS, Billboard Music Awards, and a host of others, stretching back to the beginning of his career. His 2006 concert tour with wife Faith Hill, Soul 2 Soul, became the best selling country music tour in history and the husband and wife team will go back out on the road to play 34 cities this summer June 6 to August 10. McGraw has also branched out in recent years becoming part owner of the Nashville Kats in the Arena Football League and establishing his own independent record label StyleSonic with longtime friend and producer Byron Gallimore.
