“2012 CMT MUSIC AWARDS” IGNITE DIGITAL SALES FOR EVERY MAINSTAGE PERFORMER

NASHVILLE – June 14, 2012 – The 2012 CMT MUSIC AWARDS drove digital sales among every mainstage performer* following the live telecast on Wednesday, June 6. According to SoundScan, five of the top six Country Singles were performed on the CMT MUSIC AWARDS with Luke Bryan’s “Drunk on You” claiming the #1 spot. Little Big Town brought the house to its feet during their summer anthem “Pontoon,” and sales of the track following the show increased 202 percent, while the single reached the #2 spot on the overall Digital Songs chart.

Show performers Kenny Chesney, The Band Perry, Eric Church, Lady Antebellum and Toby Keith posted double-digit percentage gains in digital track sales, while Zac Brown Band’s brand new single “The Wind” debuted at an impressive #18 on SoundScan’s Country digital track chart. Pistol Annies also went home a winner, generating the largest percentage increase in track sales (+601%) and full album sales (+107%) following the telecast.

The 2012 CMT MUSIC AWARDS sparked digital track sales increases among the following songs performed on the live show:
•   Pistol Annies (“Takin’ Pills”) – increased 601%
•   Little Big Town (“Pontoon”) – increased 202%
•   Kenny Chesney (“Come Over”) – increased 70%
•   The Band Perry (“Postcard from Paris”) – increased 64%
•   Eric Church (“Drink in My Hand”) – increased 48%
•   Lady Antebellum (“We Owned the Night”) – increased 33%
•   Toby Keith (“Beers Ago”) – increased 22%
•   Rascal Flatts (“Banjo”) – increased 9%
•   Luke Bryan (“Drunk on You”) – increased 8%
•   Carrie Underwood (“Good Girl”) – increased 8%
•   Zac Brown Band (“The Wind”) - #18 country single debut
•   Hank Williams Jr. feat. Brad Paisley (“I’m Gonna Get Drunk and Play Hank Williams”) - #40 country single debut

   More than 3 million viewers tuned in to the live CMT MUSIC AWARDS hosted by Toby Keith and Kristen Bell, making it the third most-watched awards show in CMT history. Additionally, the official hashtag #CMTawards claimed the #1 trending position worldwide soon after the show began, and nearly every performer, song and award category trended on Twitter during the 2.5 hour show. Several performances saw immediate lifts in streaming, album sales and social media immediately following the CMT MUSIC AWARDS.
