CMT.COM ANNOUNCES FINAL TWO CONTENDERS FOR USER-GENERATED TALENT SEARCH “MUSIC CITY MADNESS”

Over One Million Fan Votes Logged to Determine Finalists

Winner to Record Episode of CMT’s “Studio 330 Sessions”

NASHVILLE – March 27, 2006 – CMT’s own “big dance” of country music, MUSIC CITY MADNESS, announced today the final two contenders who will battle their way to stardom in the network’s first user-generated talent search. Following six weeks of intense online competition, fans logged more than one million votes to narrow the list from 64 top contenders down to finalists Billy Scroggs (“It’s My Turn”) from Sahuarita, Ariz. and Stephanie Beck Williams (“D.R.U.N.K.”) from Nashville, Tenn.

More than 600 entries representing all ages and styles of country music were received; with musical inspirations ranging from war to Wal-Mart, dirt roads to honky-tonks, and love to love gone bad. The nationwide talent search offered unsigned or independent artists a chance to reveal original, unpublished music to fans across the country. The winning entrant will receive an all-expenses paid trip to CMT’s Nashville studio to record an episode of STUDIO 330 SESSIONS, CMT Loaded’s original online performance series.

The winner of MUSIC CITY MADNESS will be declared on Tuesday, April 3. Voting is live now at madness.CMT.com until Monday, April 2. Using embedded video, fans can view the videos in a head-to-head match onscreen and share videos with their friends.
