Kellie Pickler hit instant stardom in 2006 when she was chosen to appear on season 5 of American Idol. This Small Town Girl, as her BNA Nashville debut album is aptly named, first stepped foot on a plane for her flight to Hollywood as an American Idol finalist. Since that time, the 20-year-old from Albermarle, N.C. has been busy following her dream of being a country music singer. Released in the fall of 2006, Small Town Girl debuted at number one on the country album chart and Pickler went on to become the best selling new solo country artist of the year. On the strength of her debut single, “Red High Heels,” the album was certified gold in January ‘07. Her new single, "I Wonder," is a moving song that she wrote about her relationship with her mother. Pickler is nominated for a 2007 CMT MUSIC AWARDS for her video, “Red High Heels,” in the category of BREAKTHROUGH VIDEO OF THE YEAR.

CMT’s sixth annual awards show honors country music’s elite for the year’s most outstanding music videos and is the genre’s only fan-voted awards.
